The second full year of the pandemic, 2021 was another challenging year for our community. All of us, in one way or another, have been impacted by the pandemic. We continued to experience anxiety, loneliness, isolation, and grief made worse by the uncertainty and frustration of changing public health measures and new COVID-19 variants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the face of these common adversities, Calgary Counselling Centre (CCC) continued to be a consistent and reliable support for the people we served. Through our determination to safeguard the wellness and well-being of our clients, staff and students, throughout 2021, the Centre continued to solely provide our programs and services online. This decision proved not only to provide much needed constancy and stability to our staff and students as well as deliver strong, effective programs and services to our clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through all of the hardships that our community has faced through the years \u2014 economic instability, natural disasters, and a pandemic \u2014 CCC continued to deliver barrier free mental health services to those who need it. Our commitment to the mental health and well-being of our community has driven us since 1962. When our community faces adversity, our resolve only grows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2021, at a time when nothing seemed certain, CCC rose to the challenge and served more people than ever before \u2014 we received 13,419 requests for service and delivered 47,760 hours of counselling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
