Message from the Board
As Chair of Calgary Counselling Centre’s Board of Directors, I am honored to share this annual report and reflect on a year of meaningful progress.
In 2024, our commitment to breaking down barriers to mental health support was more critical than ever. Rising costs, stress, and uncertainty affected individuals and families across Alberta, reinforcing the need for accessible, timely, and effective counselling. Calgary Counselling Centre responded by expanding Counselling Alberta, strengthening partnerships with rural communities, and ensuring those impacted by the Jasper wildfires received immediate support. Through these efforts, we provided over 43,000 hours of counselling and served more than 50,000 people, transforming lives in profound ways.
Beyond service delivery, our investment in training future mental health professionals continues to shape the counselling industry. Each year, we equip over 115 social work and psychology students with the skills and experience needed to make a lasting impact, ensuring that high-quality mental health care remains available for years to come.
This work would not be possible without the dedication of our staff, the guidance of my fellow Board members, and the generosity of our funders and donors. Your support allows us to eliminate financial barriers, innovate in service delivery, and reach those who need help the most.
The road ahead is one of continued impact and accessibility, ensuring that mental health support reaches every Albertan who needs it. Thank you for being part of this journey—together, we are building a stronger, healthier future for our communities.

Message from the CEO
Mental health care is not a luxury—it’s a necessity.
Across Alberta, individuals and families are navigating uncertainty, financial stress, and increasing pressures that affect their well-being. At Calgary Counselling Centre, we remain focused on one goal: ensuring that mental health support is available, accessible, and effective for everyone who needs it.
This year brought challenges, but it also highlighted the power of connection, innovation, and resilience. Whether through our counselling services, community partnerships, or the training of future mental health professionals, we continued to break down barriers and expand our impact. More Albertans have connected to care through Counselling Alberta and our growing network of partner agencies. We continue to strengthen our commitment to Feedback Informed Treatment, ensuring clients receive the highest-quality care that leads to meaningful, lasting change.
Our role in the community continues to evolve as we seek new ways to support Albertans beyond the counselling room. This year, we strengthened our partnerships with organizations across the province, ensuring that mental health resources are more accessible for youth, in workplaces, and in community settings. We expanded outreach initiatives, engaged in collaborative efforts to address urgent mental health needs, and strengthened programs that provide individuals and families with long-term, sustainable support. By continuing to listen, adapt, and respond, we are ensuring that more people receive the help they need—when and where they need it.
This year, we were also proud to receive full accreditation for our counselling program, as well as governance and management, from the Canadian Accreditation Council. This recognition reflects our commitment to excellence, ensuring that our services, leadership, and operations continue to meet the highest standards in the field.
As we look ahead, our mission remains clear: to continue expanding access to mental health support, removing barriers, and creating a future where every Albertan has the opportunity to thrive. None of this would be possible without our staff, board members, funders, donors, and partners. Your support fuels this essential work, and together, we are making a lasting difference.
