Community<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

In addition to delivering industry-leading counselling services and training future professionals, Calgary Counselling Centre and Counselling Alberta continue to be a trusted resource for organizations and communities across Alberta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our commitment to accessible, evidence-based mental health support extends beyond our counselling rooms, reaching those in need through innovative partnerships, community collaborations, and crisis response efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, our counsellors provided effective counselling, integrating Feedback Informed Treatment to clients across Alberta, including those referred through third-party contracts that support children, youth, injured workers, victims of crime, and individuals accessing care through employee benefit or primary health networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our influence also expanded beyond traditional mental health services. For the first time, we hosted four medical students from the Cumming School of Medicine in a community-engaged learning program, introducing them to the realities of community-based mental health care. This successful initiative will continue in 2025. Additionally, we completed our three-year contract with Veterans Affairs Canada, helping clinicians across occupational stress and injury clinics nationwide implement FIT into their practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New roles at CCC in 2024, including the Men & Boys Outreach Coordinator and the Mental Health Navigator for small and medium businesses, strengthened our ability to connect Albertans with vital resources. The Mental Health Navigator, in partnership with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, ensures that business owners and employees can access mental health support when they need it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Through these initiatives, Calgary Counselling Centre remains steadfast in its mission to support Albertans, ensuring mental health care is available, accessible, and responsive to the evolving needs of our communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our commitment to mental health awareness remained strong through National Depression Screening Day<\/strong> (NDSD). From October 7 to 13, we collaborated with 102 community organizations, individuals, and corporations to promote proactive mental health care. Over 3,200 people participated in our free, anonymous online screening quiz, with 77% of respondents based in Alberta.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, our commitment to inclusion was recognized with the Organizational Diversity Award<\/strong> at the Immigrants of Distinction Awards, presented by Immigrant Services Calgary. This award reflects the work we do every day to value differences, welcome multiple perspectives, and create a culture of belonging for all. As we continue to expand our reach across Alberta, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity remains at the core of everything we do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finally, our engagement in broader community initiatives deepened. We joined the United Way Action Table<\/strong>, a collaborative effort with The City of Calgary and Calgary Police Service, to coordinate support for those in urgent need. With funding secured for 2025, this partnership will continue to provide critical assistance to vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
