As Chair of Calgary Counselling Centre’s Board of Directors, I am delighted to present this annual report to you.
Looking back on 2023, I am struck not only by the breadth of our impact but the depth of our engagement with each person we serve. Last year, we touched the lives of thousands of Calgarians, and through Counselling Alberta, we are now partnering with community groups to reach other parts of Alberta. In 2023, our dedicated staff provided over 45,000 hours of counselling to almost 55,000 people demonstrating a significant and tangible impact. Despite the individual challenges each of our clients’ face, we continue to provide immediate access to high-quality, outcome-based counselling that changes lives. Regardless of age, employment status, relationship status, or gender, we are a reliable source of support for those seeking help.
We remain focused on improving the well-being of individuals and families and strengthening communities by delivering best practices in counselling, training, and research. Our Board members are proud of the work and positive impact that Calgary Counselling Centre makes our community. To my fellow board members, thank you for your continued support and commitment to Calgary Counselling Centre.
To our generous funders and donors, your contributions are pivotal in enabling us to make a difference in the lives of our clients. Your support ensures that financial constraints do not become a barrier for people seeking our services and that we continue to be available to our clients when they need us.
Reflecting on the past year’s accomplishments fills me with immense gratitude that Calgary Counselling Centre exists to help those people in need. However, we cannot rest on our laurels, as there is still significant work ahead of us. Mental health challenges do not discriminate and can affect anyone at any time. As we navigate the future, Calgary Counselling Centre remains committed to making a positive impact on individuals and communities.
