At Calgary Counselling Centre, our focus remains deeply rooted in our mission—improve the well-being of individuals and families and strengthen communities by delivering best practices in counselling, training, and research. We have seen this mission brought to life in 2023, as we provided over 45,000 hours of counselling, serving nearly 55,000 individuals, delivered comprehensive counselling training to 126 students, and deepened our knowledge and impact through extensive counselling research. Our work touched the lives of thousands, not just in the city of Calgary but across the province, each with their unique challenges. Yet, our commitment to listen, support, and empower each individual remained strong.
As we celebrate our accomplishments, it is crucial to recognize the continued and emerging needs of our community. Mental health issues are pervasive and do not discriminate– they affect people from all walks of life. As we move forward, we will continue our efforts in research, education, advocacy, and service delivery. We are steadfast in our commitment to adapt and respond to the evolving needs of our community, while staying true to our roots of client outcomes and barrier-free access to services.
